Scientist, Antibody Production - Daejeon
Roles and Responsibilities
We are looking for a scientist with a strong background in antibody production, fueled with a passion for leading high-impact projects in the field of innovative anti-cancer drug discovery and development. In addition to technical expertise, all members of Orum are expected to uphold the values of self-motivation and teamwork, fostering innovation and close collaboration within the company.
As our antibody production scientist, you will be expected to:
Oversee animal cell (CHO, HEK293 cells, among others) culturing and transfection for the production of recombinant proteins.
Carry out lab scale and bio-reactor scale optimization for the production of recombinant proteins.
Maintain and operate the metabolite bioanalyzer and cell counter.
Conduct protein purification by standard chromatography methods (affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, SEC) as well as demonstrate fluency with theoretical concepts underlying protein purification.
Possess extensive hands-on experience using chromatography equipment such as Akta (Explorer, Pure or Avant) and column packing.
Perform biophysical characterization and analysis of proteins and antibodies through physicochemical analysis, protein-based assay, HPLC-MS/MS, bio-analytical assay, qualification and validation.
Communicate directly with the Research Director and collaborate with other Associate Scientists within the team.
Partake and contribute to strengthening collaborate working relationships with a broad range of associates with varied disciplines and responsibilities.
Participate in creating a learning environment that is open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.
Actively engage in Orum’s interactive, team-oriented culture, interfacing with a variety of project teams.
Support R&D communications within the company as well as with external partners.
Support therapeutically focused external collaborations (academic and industrial) as a member of Orum’s science team.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work within a team environment.

Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s degree in biological sciences or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with demonstrable ability to carry out basic laboratory procedures such as cell cloning and protein purification.
Industry experience is desirable but not required.
Experience in designing and performing DOEs is a plus.
Experience in laboratory scale (flask-based) or bioreactor cell culture not necessary but preferred.
Research experience with biologics and drug development not necessary but preferred.
